Trip to Lake Bob Sandlin State Park - Pittsburg, TX

May 2018

For our second trip in our camper we ventured out to Lake Bob Sandlin. Lake Bob Sandlin is seriously one of the most BEAUTIFUL lakes! It was only about a 2.5-hour drive from our house so it was a great choice for our second trip.

The RV Park we stayed at, Barefoot Bay Marina & RV Resort, could honestly not get any better. We were right on the water and the views were spectacular! The campsites were nice and spacious, you could fish right next to your site, and the facilities were well maintained. The water was so clear and just so great to look at. This park also had some of their own hiking trails nearby that we were able to explore.

We drove 16 minutes from our site at Barefoot Bay RV park to Lake Bob Sandlin State Park to hike and explore. The scenes on the trails were so beautiful and many of them led to fishing ponds. We didn’t bring any gear with us since we had the littles and I was pregnant, the hikes were still worth it though! The tall trees on the trails provided lots of shade while we were hiking so it was nice and kept us cool. It was also a relatively easy hike for my then 7 year old and 1.5 year old boys.

If you’re looking for a nice place in Texas to go visit, I would definitely recommend Lake Bob Sandlin and the state park. It was the perfect weekend getaway!
